The Director of Youth Ensembles oversees an organization’s programs which engage students in musical performances.
The Director of Youth Ensembles oversees all logistics of an organization’s youth programs which usually include youth orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber music ensembles. They are responsible for leading annual artistic planning in collaboration with music directors and creating the season’s schedule of events.
They coordinate needs for concerts and oversee the responsibilities of ensemble managers. The director of youth ensembles also works interdepartmentally throughout the organization. They assist in fundraising events with the Development team, they help the Marketing team on campaigns, creating promotional materials, and serving as the spokesperson of the youth ensembles during public events and performances. With the Finance team, they track and maintain the youth ensembles’ annual budget.
