Applied Kinesiologist
Evaluates the body’s muscles and movement to diagnose and remedy physical ailments.
Applied kinesiologists help diagnose and remedy the physical ailments of patients through their understanding of the structural anatomy of the body and the workings of the muscular system. One of the most popular forms of chiropractic diagnostic techniques, this method focuses on testing the response of muscles in the body alongside evaluation of posture and range of motion. Using this information, applied kinesiologists recommend further treatments and exercises to improve their patients’ conditions.
It is important to note that applied kinesiology is not kinesiology, the scientific study of movement and the human body, but is its own applied diagnostic practice. As such, applied kinesiology is intended to be utilized in conjunction with other assessments and medical practice. Practitioners of this method often must hold an MD and gain additional certification.
